The Saturna Ecological Education Center (SEEC) is an experiential place-based year of ecological learning on beautiful Saturna Island, British Columbia. Within the Gulf Islands School District (SD64), SEEC follows the BC curriculum and students earn full credits for provincially approved courses in Grades 10 and 11.
SEEC encourages learners to go deeper and immerse themselves in the natural world to feel, understand and act for protecting the environment. Our explorations integrate science, social studies, physical education, language arts to create a unique learning adventure that promotes critical thinking, social responsibility, and personal growth.
SEEC is an overnight based program where high school students stay three nights a week. The site has three cabins, a cookhouse and separate washrooms for boys and girls.
